“The Piranha coring catheter is the only device available that resolves food impactions and maintains a clear field. It is designed to work rapidly and safely, and is Teflon coated to maximize food suction. The catheter works by coring out the center of a food impaction allowing easy distal passage of food”.

“ Piranha is a newly designed trans-endoscopic catheter for the effective treatment of esophageal food impaction. It simplifies and expedites the procedure while increasing its efficacy. It avoids the use of numerous other ineffective tools. Piranha is a welcome tool in the armamentarium of the endoscopist ”

FOOD IMPACTION CATHETER
The Piranha GI connects to the aspiration system in the treatment room and uses the pressure to core through the food impaction while pulling the food through the catheter and away form the patient. The reduced surface area of the impaction allows it to evacuate normally through the esophagus and clear the field.
The Piranha GI catheter is advanced through an endoscope
